I would like to express our deepest sympathy from the UWF Athletic Department. To the Hupp family, I hope that you will continue to be a part of the Argonaut family. The field will never be taken without Mason beside us. I have been reflecting these past few weeks on the person we know as Mason Hupp. I have never known anyone that could brighten a room the way he did. Mason had this special way of making everyone he came into contact with feel special. I have thousands of memorable moments with Mason however two of my favorites are the day he bit my finger nail off "just to see if he could" and getting pedicures on roadtrips. Mason was one of the first players I met at UWF, one of my very favorites and will never be replaced! Mason, you will never leave our hearts. Go Argos!!

MA-SON!!!
i got to spend 17 years of my life with you. Following in your footsteps, it was the best 17 years of my life. You were my older brother, my best friend, and basically my twin. Yes, we fought ALL the time, but i knew you always loved me. We would say mean things to each other and i would usually lose, but always when we talked about each other to other people.. we would always say GREAT and AMAZING things. You will greatly be missed. Not a day will go by that im not crying and thinking about our times we've got to spend together. Im so lucky to have a brother like you!! I love you Mommy and Daddy.. I will carry on the name and legacy!!

From our family to yours, we are truly sorry about the lose of Mason. He sure knew how to make those tournaments for the Expo fun all the way up to Nationals. He was great to watch on the field and fun to have around after. I am sure him and Stevie have a great team going on. Mason will be missed by many.
June 04, 2008
Dear Lori, Pat, Breezy, Tyler and all of Mason's family:
We will remember Mason, and all the fun we all used to share playing on the Cocoa Expos team, and all the fun we had when we went to Nationals. Mason was always ready for anything and always kept everyone laughing and on their toes. Too many great times! We love all of you and you are in our thoughts and prayers everyday. God bless all of you. You are forever in our hearts.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.
June 03, 2008
My brother and I had the pleasure of growing up with and hanging out with Mason from a young age. It's so shocking that such a vibrant and amazing person with his potential has been taken away from us all so suddenly. Mason, as all of us know, could light up a room and make you laugh like no other. His energy and spirit are irreplaceable. Mason; we love you and we extend our prayers to your family and everyone else affected by this tragic loss.

Kayla Jackson was one of my best friends and a great friend with Mason Hupp. She talked much about him and how great of a person he was. I met him when he came to our apt and when I went with Kayla to his house in Pensacola for her to try and find a place to rent out. I have never met such a caring wonderful guy, he made the atmosphere that more inviting. Mason, you are wonderful and you are in gods hands now. We all love you regardless and we will all miss you. God Bless.

Pat and Lori
Our hearts are breaking for you and your family. Mason was a wonderful loving child and grew to be more amazing as a young man. I can still hear him ask my mother "Ms Sally would you like me to cut your grass" he was no bigger than the lawnmower it self, but he mowed it anyway. He was the product of two wonderful parents who always gave him love and encouragement and who I am so grateful to have living next door to my mother. May god bless you all.
June 02, 2008
I met Mason at Cocoa Expo in 2003 while he was attending the Cocoa Expo summer soccer camp. From that day on our soccer team got what we were always missing. A young man who not only could play soccer but who could light up a room with his smile. So many times coach Gerry Queen and myself would tell Mason to do something on the field and he would do the opposite and his way always ended up been better. Mason was so committed to soccer it was not unusal for him to make the 8 hour journey from Fort Walton to Cocoa for just 1 game on the week-end but that was Mason. To anyone who never had the pleasure of meeting Mason you don't what you missed and for those of us who did our lives will have changed for ever. Mason you have made all of us so incredible proud to have been in your company, I know you are now in heaven teaching eveyone the game you loved so much. God bless you and your family you were truly a great kid.

I know it's cliché, but in this case it's true - Mason truly had the unique ability to light up any room. I think every gymnast and cheerleader at Emerald City had a crush on him! There were plenty of times my girls would say they were tired midway through class - but then Mason would drop into the gym and they magically got their energy back! You are all an amazing family, and you've been in my prayers. I love you all.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Hupp family at this time of grief. As parents of one of Mason's UWF teammates, we admired his athletic gifts and we so much enjoyed his sense of humor... his ease with people. Mason will be missed, but remembered fondly.

Pat,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Our hearts go out to you. We remember watching Mason play in the President's cup in Tallahassee. He will be missed.
May 30, 2008
Mason has been to our home many times - always helping; putting up fence, fixing the roof after Dennis, and lastly bringing a sweet puppy (Molly) to our children Grace and Aidan. They adored Mason (he gave Aidan the nickname "Wee-Man") and will take good care of the puppy he gave them! Our hearts are broken...
May 30, 2008
You truly will be missed!
May 30, 2008
I only knew Mason for a short time through his work at the L.C. He was always such an upbeat and endearing young man. He had a penchant, as do I, for the Florida lottery scratch off games. He always told me what he'd won, and I always told him what I'd lost. I have missed seeing him this past week, as I'm sure a lot of the customers at the L.C. have. Mason touched everyone's heart, and I consider myself fortunate to have known him, even for such a short time.
May 30, 2008
Mason was an amazing person. I will always remember the times we laughed together in high school. He was loved by many and will be missed by many more. My prayers go out to all of you during this difficult time.
May 30, 2008
Mason was in a number of my classes at UWF. I always enjoyed having him as a student and I appreciated getting to know him as a friend too. My prayers are with all of you.

When I first met Mason he was probably around 12 yrs old. I would usually run into him while watching the girls play (Breezy and Nicole). He immediately stuck me as extraordinary because of his ability to strike up a conversation with anyone and how polite and respectful he was! I really felt then he was one of a kind. Many years later he and his Dad came and helped us put our roof back on after Ivan blew it off. We were very grateful for their kindness and hard work. Mason will be missed but memories will keep his spirit alive!

We all come across people in our lives that make significant impressions on us. Mason was one of those people. I always marveled at how he was kind and helpful to everyone regardless of their age. He was as wonderful as he was because of his parents - two great people that my heart aches for.

Mason was a soccer player for me and Bill at UWF, and I speak for all the players when I say that you knew within 30 seconds of Mason entering the room he would have you laughing about something. He was a a hero to my kids Grace and Aidan (Wee Man), and one of the sweetest things he did was to bring us a puppy. He had promised us one of Bailey's puppies, but this didn't work out due to something out of Masons control...regardless, without any hesitation, he found my kids a sweet puppy (Molly) and hand delivered her without thinking twice...it makes me so happy to see my kids smile when they say "I love Molly" every day, because the smile they have is solely because of the kindness of Mason. We will not let our kids forget him, or the wonderful person he was. As a player, he was exceptional, but always trying to meg you when you weren't looking - cheeky!!! If my kids grow up to be half the person Mason was, Paige and I will be delighted. To Mr and Mrs Hupp, Tyler and Breezy we give our sincere condolonces...but we also want to thank you for raising a wonderful young man who could light up a room with his smile and mischevious charm. My whole life is just one big memory of one of the best kid that anyone would ever want. You could make me mad and make me laugh all in the same minute. I remember the cruise we went on and we were on deck and talking about the movie Deliverance and the stuffed pig and you pulled up your shorts like a thong and shoved the apple in your month and then gave us all a great laugh that will be talked about forever, I am glad we have that on film. Mason you were and still are the bright spot in my life and I will miss you forever. I will see you before you know it. I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART. I could not dote on you enough. Dad

We're talking about at least75 or so chocolates...he would eat them all for me. But he allways left the ones in there for christmas day. My very first memory of Mason was during one of my first weeks at Emerald City. I saw this guy across the gym just goofing off and doing silly litle pranks to everyone. I thought he was so funny and couldn't wait to see what he would do next. Of course he always got caught and his mom sent him off to do other things. He could always put a smile on anyone's face. He will be forever loved and missed.

Mason brought joy to everyone around him. We met my senior year of college and shared at least 3 classes together. Somehow, I always ended up sitting next to this loud, but absolutely hilarious soccer player every single day! He made class a pleasure to be in and I'll never forget his carefree attitude and wonderful smile. Mason, really, truly did live every day as if it were his last and that is something we can all try to do.

Mason, I will always have your smiling face in my memory, the jokes and the hugs you always gave me and the smile you always brought to my face. The pranks you pulled at WKU, the elevator when you threw foot powder all over it and when the door opened, you're standing there alone with powder all over you, but you said "I didn't do it" with that mischievous smile on your face. Then I just had to burst out laughing! So many summer camps, practices and games, the pure joy in watching you play. You were a shining light to your family, but you were also a shining light to us all. God now has you to keep him entertained. We will miss you Mas, more than you could possibly know. Dear Pat, Lori and Family, Words cannot begin to express my sorrow for your family in the loss of Mason. Mason was one of those kids who was always fun to be around. Like all your kids, he was polite and well mannered. He was a leader on the soccer field and had those intangible star qualities that made teams better. Austin was very upset to learn the news as were all my kids. Your family certainly has much to be proud of in the young man that Mason became. You all our in my thoughts and prayers today. Lori and Pat-You two are such an inspiration for parents. Your love and support for your children shows in everything you do. As a result, Mason touched everyone he met. His smile melted hearts. Our thoughts are with you.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Hupp family through this difficult time. I was a friend of Mason's during highschool and through our college years. He always made me laugh during soccer practices at Choctaw, and gave me the confidence and advice on how to be a better player. He was such a kind and gentle soul (comical, too!), he will be missed greatly.

Lori & Pat - I am so very sorry to hear of Mason's passing - like everyone, I am still in shock and deeply saddened. My thoughts and prayers are with you two and Breezy. I am so sorry that I cannot attend the visitation tonight, but like you did so often with Mason, I'm taking the boys to a big junior golf event in MS. Mason was a great kid, and a great reflection of his loving parents. We love you all, Don & Kelly O.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Our son Grant played against Mason as well as with him in soccer, and our son Evan trained with Breezy. Our hearts are heavy for your family but know that God's soccer team has received their star player and he will shine down on all soccers players forever. May God's strength help you through this.

Lori, Pat, Tyler and Breezy, Words cannot express how very sorry I am about your loss of Mason. You all are in my thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time. Please remember that I will always be here for you for I too have walked the walk you are walking now. Just perhaps that Mason has met Justin and he is teaching Justin how to play soccer. What an awesome thought that is for me. May you find peace and comfort in God's loving care.
